First year - Pedal box rails

Pedal box rails

Pedal box rails

My second first year design task in formula student was to redesign the pedal box rails. The previous design had no way to adjust the pedal distance, even for different driver heights. Therefore we needed a solution which allowed different sized drivers to be able to adjust to the most ideal pedal placement.

This pair of rails were constructed using a lathe and mill to machine away at a mild steel (EN8) bar, and featured 4 different positions over 155mm of travel.
